24-hour Urine

1. Dispose of the first urine in the morning and then collect urine in a container delivered by the laboratory for 24 hours. For example, urine samples should be discarded at 6 o’clock in the morning and the samples should be poured into the container at 6 o’clock in the next morning (ie, at 6 o’clock in the morning).
2. Be sure to collect all the urine, even in small quantities, within 24 hours.
3. During storage, store the container in a cool place away from direct light.
4. In cases where the container contains preservatives, do not dispose of the substance in the container and avoid contact with skin or mucous membranes. If in case of contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water. Use a disposable cup to collect and transfer it into the urine container.
5. Before using the test, you should avoid excessive fluid intake and during this period of 24 hours try to use the usual amount of water and have a normal physical activity.
6. Write the 6th hour and date of the start and end of the sampling on the sheet at a special place.
7. After completing the sample collection, deliver it to the lab.
